Summary of 2015

Icewolf Kennels had a fabulous 2015 and we cannot thank our friends and Icewolf family for campaigning our kennel both here in the UK and Abroad.

Our highlight of the year was undoubtedly finishing Vader's UK Champion Title at Richmond Championship show of which he finished it in style beating off stiff competition including other UK Champions!  Vader was awarded the Best Dog and the DCC from International Judge and breed specialist Mrs Robin Hug of Adair N Hug Alaskan Malamutes, USA.  Winning the CC under a judge from the Alaskan Malamutes country of origin was the icing on the cake.  In her critique she stated that Vader is a 'strong powerful dog of correct freighting size, correctly proportioned and in excellent physical condition'.   Not bad for our 6 year old boy :-)

Vader also completed his German Championship title and finished the 2015 showing with a superb Best in Group V at Kertshow, International Dog show in Netherlands.

Vader's kids both bred by ourselves and other breeders who have used him at stud also had a superb year to include:

Roxy 'Icewolf Fire N Ice', who started her Belgium and International title and also for completing a working title

Blade 'Icewolf Shaken Not Stirred', for winning Best in Show at Newcastle and Staffs and for the second year running winning his large class at Crufts.  Blade also completed a working title.

Lumen 'Skidooshooz Spot Lites on Me', who won multi Best Puppy in Show and finished as Our Dogs Joint Top Puppy 2015.  Lumen is owned and bred by Sonya Mogg of Skidooshooz Alaskan Malamutes.

Vader's grandkids are also excelling in both the show ring and working, namely

'Galaxy', Bel JCH Icewolf Strike a Pose de Lunartico who has claimed many wins in Europe and has started her Belgian, Dutch and International Title.  Galaxy also has working titles.

'Kesuk', Icewolf Hugo Boss.  Kesuk started showing in April 2015 and at his first show won his limit class gaining him his Stud Book Number and Qualifying For Crufts For Life.  He also has numerous wins in Europe and has started his Belgian, Dutch, German and International Titles.

With the many highs there was unfortunately one major low.  We were devastated to lose our beloved Mishka, Misspittypat del Biagio for Icewolf, aged 10 years in August 2015.  It was our first Christmas without her and it felt empty :-( and we are still trying to come to terms with her not being around anymore. Mishka was the matriarch of our kennels and is grand dam to alot of the Icewolf kids.  Although not our first malamute, Mishka was our main foundation and the reason for our full blown journey into the breed.

Gone but Never Forgotten - We Miss You Mishka

In Memory of Mishka

 13/06/2005 - 11/08/2015

11 August 2015 was one of the saddest days we have endured here at Icewolf when we had to say goodbye to the matriarch of our kennels 'Mishka', Misspittypat del Biago For Icewolf (IMP ITA).

She stole our hearts the moment we set eyes on her when we visited the del Biagio kennels in Italy.  We knew straight away she was the one for us.  Affectionately know as 'The Don', she along with Star (2nd in command), she has kept the rest of our gang in line.

Mishka has left a gaping hole in our hearts ..... she was taken from us far too soon :-(

We thank Mishka who was our main foundation girl to our kennel for giving us our beautiful girl 'Scarlett'.   From Scarlett we now have her grand children and from 'Pagan', we have her great grand children, so, long may her legacy continue.

She gave us so much joy and she was both beatiful both inside and out .... our hearts are broken ................. until we meet again.

August 2015

The month of March sees us attend the 'East Anglian Supermatch 2011' held by the Huntingdonshire Canine Association on the 5th.  This is a charity 'black tie' event in support of the AHT (Animal Health Trust) of which we were delighted to be invited to attend.  Invitation is reserved to winners of Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show, Best Puppy in Show and Reserve Best Puppy in Show at selected shows around the East Anglian Region.  Vader qualified by achieving Best Puppy in Show at the Suffolk Kennel Association in August 2010 under esteemed Judge Mrs Christina Chapman.

We had a lovely evening and were especially pleased with Vader who reached the final 4 dogs out of the 32 in the Puppy Match, this being the Semi-finals.  Vader knocked out some very strong competition and was finally knocked out himself by a super Labrador which went onto become the East Anglian Top Puppy 2011.   The evening was judged by 3 well known judges including D Spavin and J Horsewell.

February 2011

***We are delighted to announce that subject to KC Confirmation 'Vader' has now achieved his Junior Warrant Title***

We made the trip to Portsmouth & Southsea Kennel Association on the 13th and Vader was awarded Best of Breed and Working Group 1.  Our thanks go to breed specialist Mrs Julie Cox (Icestorm) and the Working Group Judge, Mr K Savage (Kington).  We were also very pleased with Cullen, Icewolf a Touch of Stardom for Cheshnisha, owned by Bev Gell who was placed 2nd behind Vader in a large junior class.

The start to February sees Vader 'CZ JCH Under Icewolf's Star Inditarod ShCM EJW'10 achieving BOB and WG2 at Wellingborough and District on the 6th.  At the same show the current baby at Icewolf, Jem 'Austmans Star Touch with Icewolf' achieves BPIB and WPG1.  Our thanks go to our breed judge Jane Paradise and the group judge Roberta Wright for the placings.
